I've known Rick since high school, and use him regularly when I need a handyman. He just finished making a small storage room in my attic for me. It is well built, solid and lit with a florescent light. He is always punctual, often has good suggestions, and comes through every time with quality work.

Walter Lang
First of all, Rick is punctual. Also friendly and efficient. Quickly looked over the projects, did them and gave me advice on things I could do as maintenance and prevention of future problems. He works quick and charges fairly. A man of integrity and my new handyman.

Carey Corbaley
I definitely agree with the client who dubbed Rick the King of Handy-ness! I had quite a list of projects to do, but he got through them all in a very reasonable amount of time, and without sacrificing quality. He did it all with such good humor as well. I'm still walking around my house, admiring all of Rick's fix-its. I will definitely recommend him to my friends. Thanks again for all your help, Rick. Sincerely, Carey

Dawn Farry
Once again, the King of Handy-ness receives nothing but super accolades from me! Rick, the work you recently did at my house is greatly appreciated. It is true that you work with clever intelligence, tools of every type in your truck, along with an amazingly friendly manner and care for my household needs. Thank you for your services and as always, I will recommend you without reservation to anyone seeking household repair work. All the best this holiday to you and your wife! Sincerely,Dawn

I am so happy to have found HandymanRick. I had many projects that had been put off for so long while I help take care of my father. I can't put in words how great it feels having gotten them accomplished, as I said to Rick, I feel like I have a "real" house now. He worked so smoothly, moving from one task to the other. I feared he was going to run out of time, as I had a dollar limit, but he finished it all and a few other problems I'd mentioned after he had arrived. I have already mentioned him to friends and co-workers that were aware of my growing list of jobs and that I had finally found a Handyman I felt I could trust and that would do good work. I will definetly have Rick as the Handyman I call (e-mail) for future jobs around my house.

John Boccio
I'm glad I found Rick. He was fun to work with and I saved well over $1000 compared to what contractors wanted to charge me. And I learned a bit about house repair. I will hire Rick again.

I greatly appreciate all the words of kindness and goodwill from all those who took the time to write about my little local handyman service. What can I say ... you tell my story best. On the 20th of Sep I had an angina attack -- like a heart attack but without the damage -- and lost a couple of days in recovery. I had my first and only real heart attack followed by s stint in 2005 during the building of Black Widow 2 and now better appreciate each day. I really do like meeting folks, fixing stuff -- accomplishing the impossible every day -- and generally making new friends through the joy of service. Wow what a great life. No ... one does not get rich doing handyman work but with a very low overhead, a steady calendar of honey-dos, great friends and the ability to pursue my hobbies with wild abandon, I feel like the wealthiest guy on earth. Thank you all so very, very much. Please keep posting to this list ... and I will keep fixing stuff and having fun. -Rick-

Rick, I own a house in Sausalito that was built in l876 and is the 2ndoldest standing residence in Sausalito. Needless to say, this house has many problems, and I have personally solved many of them with my own hands. The problem is not that I can't do any of these jobs, the problem is there are many other things I also want to get accomplished. The problem is to find someone who does quality work and that you trust at what is a reasonable price. I like your style. And it is almost freaky that you have the car that I have wanted to build for many years. I grew up in Southern Calif. and worked for many of the old hot rod ledgends like: Dave Mitchell of Mitchell Muffler Co. in Pasadena, Cliff Collins of Harman and Collins etc. I learned to weld at Mitchell Muffler when I was in high school. After two years at Stanford University, I wasn't sure about my major and dropped out for two years and worked heavy contruction and learned about back problems and decided engineering wasn't that bad a way to go. Cliff Collins gave me a job and I did all the design and layout of the first roller cams for the overhad V-8s when they first came out. I also was racing my motorcycle and was doing flow design for the great racerslike Johnny Gibson and Al Gunther. I am now 71yrs. old and this is only a very small part of the story. But your car has been in my mind for a long time. Only, I want one that is not a show car, but an open wheeled version that I can USE everyday to haul stuff etc. I want a very well engineered car that handles like a dream and is super fast, but something I can leave out in the rain and not worry about dents. Somehow I got your card and it struck a very deep chord. I would like to meet you if you ever have the time and are in this area. Off the subject of cars, I am an avid offshore sailor having sailed over 100Kblue water miles and raised my two daughters while sailiing aroundthe world. There is much to share. The only reason I am responding in this manner is because something really got me about your life and approach. If nothing more, good on you!!!!!

Rick replaced an exterior door for me, and added some deadbolts. He worked fast, saved me from more costlier repairs on the exterior stucco, and did excellent work. I recommend him highly. It was less like hiring a handy man, and more like having a friend over to help with some projects ... except for the money part :-)

A couple of months ago I used Handyman Rick to install mirrored wardrobe doors and a couple of miscellaneous jobs. He did a great job. He arrived on time and with all the necessary tools to accomplish the job. He approached each job with intellect and experience. Most importantly, he did not waste any time and accomplished the jobs quickly. I truly appreciated his workmanship and professionalism. I will definitely call for his services again.

In preparation for a home sale my wife and I had Rick come in to do various jobs, a very full day of work. Rick replaced a dining room light fixture, replaced hall light fixtures, replaced bathroom light fixtures, hung a mirror, and grouting work. Rick called us first as promised, came when he said he would, was on time, and got to work. He did a great job for us. All of the work wad done as promised. One of the bath fixtures began leaking after wards. Rick came back to fix this without additional cost. We wish we had found Rick sooner. To those reading this, I recommend Rick highly. Plus he brought the Black Widow by, and I was fortunate enough to get a ride on a warm summer day. Great fun.

Recently, I called Rick at the last moment without an appointment to bail me out of a situation which I desperately needed help. Rick was so kind enough to respond to my request and was at my place within 20 minutes. He then took care of the sheet rock problem and left my placein an hour or so. I do not think any other person would have responded to the call as Rick did. As I have known Rick for a while, he is pleasant, humorous and does an excellent job of fixing things in a home. I am lucky to have him as my friend and helper.Tom.

Ross Jerozal
The first and last "handyman" you will need for those small to medium jobs around the house. Even the ones that you can probably do yourself given enough research and patience he can do far faster and with better quality - and at a very resonable price. He could probably fix your computer as well as your sink or fence by the way... I will call again without hesitation when the next project comes up.

Linda Thompson-Mills
I am VERY PLEASED! Rick was here today and solved a door problem that has been going on for two years! He also took care of several other issues quickly and efficiently. Rick was timely, personable and he is now in my personal phone book for easy reference. I won't be calling anyone else!

With today's busy schedules, it was great to find a handyman that booked appointments on line! But even better was coming home after Handyman Rick had spent the day fixing all the things I'd put off for too long. Rick did a great job installing a new door in the garage, replacing an old unsafe door with one that meets current safety standards ... and the framing around the door looks great, too! He also handled a leaky toilet, the two-pronged plug in my son's room, and the ever-leaking plumbing under my kitchen sink. I appreciate the quality of the work and Rick's professionalism. I will definitely use Rick again (and not wait so long to get things fixed in the future:) Gayle Vassar

Last Wednesday, February 14, Rick came to my house and installed my new patio door. Not only did he do a great job, but he trimmed my door out. The old door was wider, and he had to add trim to the inside of the house to finish it. He came back three days later and textured the area so when I paint it, it will look the same. Again, I recomend Rick for any job. Thanks, Jim and Nancy Scott

Rick: First off, thanks for the great job this past Tuesday replacing our kitchen faucet. What you did in the 2 or so hours you were here would have taken me the entire weekend and several skinned knuckles. Second, I appreciate the advice on how to finish out the closet in our bedroom. You make it sound pretty easy and I'm more than game to help. Third, I've GOT to see the black widow! P.

Rick, great job on the dog door. I appreciate you working this small job in on a busy Friday. Great communication, quick and tidy!!! I would not hesitate to strongly recommend you. Really nice to do business with someone who recognizes the importance of first class customer service!!!

Hi Rick. Thanks again for the beautiful, neat and quick job on our home in Pleasant Hill. We have received many compliments on each of the projects: baseboards, painting, mirror, etc. We will surely have many more projects to come. Thanks again so much for your expert help.

Steve Safstrom
Way to go Rick.. Just saw you on CAR CRAZY. Good for you and what a nice car. I'm in the pocess of building a Factory Five cobra, should have it ready by Sept. 9 months also for me. One handy man to another. -Steve-

We have found Rick's work to be first rate, especially in plumbing fixture replacement. In this era of undependable work people, Rick's adherence to the traditional values of being on time, working efficiently and honest billing is much appreciated. Plus Rick is a good communicator-You are fully informed on what is being done. Very importantly, he cares about you as a person, not just a client.

I am the owner of Curves-Pleasant Hill and wanted to let you know that your customer and neighbor, Andrea McGill brought in your flyer to share with our other members. Our members are great at networking with each other and sharing useful information and many are always looking for a reliable handyman. We will copy and share your flyer with our members, as Andrea gave such a good recommendation.

Bryan Holmes
I was extremely pleased with the work that Rick did. He replaced two entry doors for me and did not meet a problem he couldn't fix. He arrived on time, was friendly and affable, did not break for lunch and only wanted water. I will hire Rick again.

Jim Baylor
I am a Contra Costa Co. photographer. Although I can take good photos, I am NOT a handyman! When I needed a handyman, I went to Eames Hardware where Peter Eames recommended Rick Hanson. Calling Rick was one of the best calls I've made recently. He came on time and creatively tackled the projects with energy and good humor. Rick's also a nice guy who's fun to talk with. I plan to use Rick's services again in the Spring to fix a garden fountain.

Dawn Farry
Dear Rick, Please accept my sincere thanks for all the work you did for me at my house last week. I am thrilled to have the lamps and fans up, along with the other odd jobs you accomplished. Indeed, you are a joy to be around and I'm grateful for that as a single mom. It's always a little tenious having strangers in one's home. Your sensitivity to that and care to make me feel comfortable was greatly appreciated. Your ingenuity in problem solving is admired greatly, as well, Rick. I wish you the very best in your business pursuits and goals with the "Black Widow." I'm very glad "Yardbird's" recommended you. I will call again! All best to you and family. Sincerely,Dawn

We had Rick perform some dry rot repair on our exterior siding. He was very professional, came up with a great solution to repair in most cost effective yet asthetic way possible. We loved the solution and will be bringing him back for other jobs!!

Janice Bayol
I have had Rick do several jobs for me. You were there when you said you were going to be there. You went out of your way to accomodate me and did extra errands. It is very hard to find someone who can do work around my house who I can trust and does a great job too.

Jean O'Neil
One of the best phone calls I've made recently was to Yardbirds. They recommended I call Rick Hanson to replace my broken kitchen sink mechanism. That was last Thursday night. By Friday noon I had running water again in my kitchen sink. He did a super job in less than an hour, was professional and nice. I completely trusted him in my house. He did a great job and I recommend him 1000 times. He will be the first person I call when I need something fixed or installed. I am so glad to have found such a great resource. Call Rick hanson, you'll be glad you did.

Nancy McGuire
I read your article in the recent Martinez Life issue. Gosh reliable handymen seem so hard to find. I was excited to see someone in Martinez actually has a business such as yours as there is such a need...in my house anyway. Your web site is very informative. Thanks for sharing and I'm sure I will be calling you.

Jim Christie
We have had Rick perform a number of different repair jobs for us on two different occassions. In both cases we have been very pleased with Rick's work and the way interfaces with us. He is very polite, punctual and honest. He is willing to try most any type of job, but knows his limitations and will not over commit himself. He'll also tell you if he thinks the repair should be fixed or handled in a different way or make other suggestions that may not involve him. My wife and I trust him and I trust having him in my home.

Bruce Hokanson
HotWater Heater was intalled on 11-10-04, and very professionally done. Rick was an excellent resource and we highly recommend him for a quality professional installation.

Randi Woods
Thanks for the good work today.
